About Us

About Gemini Duo

Artistic Vision

Two Accordions, One Orchestra

Gemini Duo’s artistic focus lies in the classical accordion and its orchestral potential. Through transcriptions of works by composers such as Stravinsky, Holst, Grieg and Borodin, the duo explores how two accordions can carry the scale, colour and dramatic energy of orchestral music.

Their repertoire includes orchestral works such as Stravinsky’s Petrushka and Borodin’s Polovtsian Dances from Prince Igor, alongside contemporary works by Sofia Gubaidulina and Zbigniew Bargielski, as well as newly premiered music including Martin Lohse’s Fast Track.

Performing from memory is central to Gemini Duo’s approach, allowing greater freedom on stage, closer communication between the two players, and a more direct connection with the audience.
